Florida Recreation & Parks Association The Florida Recreation and Parks Association (FRPA) is a state, non-profit membership organization dedicated to advancing parks, recreation, and leisure services efforts that enhance the quality of life for all people. The FRPA state office is located in Tallahassee and offers a variety of experiences for FSU students who are trying to become professionally connected. FRPA works closely with local government recreation and parks agencies in Florida in carrying out its objectives. FRPA conducts an annual State Conference for Recreation and Parks in August or September which provides educational sessions, on-site visits, and numerous networking opportunities. FRPA offers scholarships to students who have demonstrated leadership and service to the organization. NRPA works closely with national, state and local recreation and park agencies, corporations and citizens' groups in carrying out its objectives. NRPA conducts an annual Congress for Recreation and Parks each October. The Congress provides over 300 educational sessions, on-site visits to unique park and recreation settings, networking opportunities, and includes the largest number of exhibitors of park and recreation products and services held anywhere in the United States. NIRSA provides access to educational resource materials as well as a professional network through sponsored national, regional and state conferences. Programs administered by NIRSA institutional members directly affect millions of people on college and university campuses, military bases and in communities around the globe. For more information about NIRSA, connect with their home page at: www.nirsa.org National Employee Services and Recreation Association The National Employee Services and Recreation Association (NESRA) is a national, nonprofit association representing over 10 million employees and is dedicated to enhancing employee quality of life by promoting the development of employee services programs at the workplace. The first association in the human resources field, NESRA promotes programs, which serve to improve relations between employees and management, increase overall productivity, boost morale and reduce absenteeism and turnover. NESRA members are company managers who are responsible for the administration of effective employee services and recreation programs. Founded in 1910, the ACA is the only not-for-profit, educational body that accredits all types of camps throughout the United States. With members in all 50 states and several foreign countries, ACA demonstrates a commitment to health, safety, and program quality in camps. The ACA accredits over 2,000 camps nationwide. WLRA conducts a biennial World Congress, and offers regional conferences, seminars, and workshops. WLRA also offers international scholarships to students to support their travel to Congresses, meetings, and workshops.
